There are three components to the Town of Geneseo Logo. Most prominent is a large tree. This tree represents the historical connection of the Town to the Treaty of the Big Tree. The treaty was signed between the United States government and the Seneca Nation in 1797, beneath the limbs of the Big Tree on the banks of the nearby Genesee River. The Genesee River also appears in the Town logo, winding around the roots of the Big Tree. Behind the Big Tree are three lines, symbolizing the Genesee Valley itself. The three symbols are enclosed within a circle. Return to Geneseo, New York |
