Our National Landmark Village set in a rural town of productive farms and stunning landscapes.

The Village is home to the Livingston County Courthouse, the campus of SUNY Geneseo, as well as numerous properous businesses, essential services, and finely preserved homes.

Our Town is nestled in the beautiful Genesee Valley and it borders on Conesus Lake, the western edge of the Finger Lakes region. Geneseo's hills, fields and waterways support a thriving agriculture and give us lively recreation opportunities from boating to equestrian sports.

The name "Geneseo" comes from the Native American word, "Gen-nis-he-yo", which means "pleasant banks" or "beautiful valley". Our website will give you a glimpse of who we are -- a friendly community with abundant human and natural resources -- and it will give you crucial information as to how our Village and Town operate.
